Nalbinding from an Oval Start

July 14 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

Learn how to work Broden stitch using your thumb to gauge the thickness of your knitted fabric. With instructor Donna Kallner, you’ll learn how to make an oval start,  how to increase and decrease, how to knit a piece without a pattern. Using a single needle, pass the full length of the thread through on each stitch to produce a fabric that is exceptionally stable. You will not take a finished product home; you will leave knowing you can start and finish a project on your own. No experience with fiber arts is needed.  Donna will provide all materials. Please bring embroidery scissors, glasses for close work. A task lamp is optional. Please bring a lunch.

A minimum of 8 students need to be registered by Sunday, July 7 in order to hold the class. Maximum of 12 students. To  register for this class, click “Add to Cart” below or phone 906-884-7663. For information about refunds, click on the Refund Policy link at the bottom of the Folk School page.
