Lodging

Need a place to stay? Lodging for every taste and budget is available.  The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park offers 16 rustic trail side cabins, one lodge and the Union Bay modern campground. Presque Isle River offers a semi-modern campground (no electricity).  There are also four rustic camping areas.

Rustic Park cabins access varies from one to four miles hiking distance.  Most cabins have four bunks with mattresses, but they range from two to eight bunks.  Each cabin contains wood heating stove, cupboard, table and benches, cooking and eating utensils, saw and axe.  Cabin users provide bedding, food, towels, lighting, and personal items.  A small cooking stove is recommended.

No camping will be permitted on the Folk School grounds.  Union Bay Campground is within walking distance west of the Folk School site.  For more Park camping information, call 906-885-5275 or make your reservations on line at www.mighigan.gov/porkies.
