Blacksmithing for the Beginner: Lesson 1

Be the Village Blacksmith! Instructors Payne Anne and Bill of Peninsula Hotworks will demonstrate managing and working a coal fired forge while safely using tongs and hammers to shape your own hand-forged S hooks and drive hooks. You’ll forge 4 hooks to take home and display proudly. No experience necessary. Ages 10 and older are welcome; younger students need to come with an adult. Wear natural fiber clothing, long pants, and close toed shoes. The instructors will provide all other safety equipment. Bring a lunch if you are staying for the afternoon class.
