Create a Greenland Kayak Paddle with Dave Rasmussen: Session 2 of 2
June 10 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
Construct your traditional Inuit kayak paddle that is tailored to your body size. The paddle is lightweight and efficient and helps to reduce paddling fatigue. During construction, students will use power tools to create the rough shape and then hand tools to craft the final product.
Students age 14 and older are welcome. Students are welcome to bring their own abrasive paper, hand and power tools to avoid wait time for shared tools. Tools and equipment used: surform files, spoke shave, hand planes, palm sander, safety glasses, ear protection, and dust mask. Students should bring a lunch for Saturday.
See Session 1 for cost.
A minimum of 4 students need to be registered by Tuesday, June 2 in order to hold the class. Maximum of 6 students. To register for this class, click the registration button below or call 906-884-7663.
