Dyeing with Natural Colors

August 8 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT


Instructor: Donna Kallner. Use homegrown and foraged barks and blossoms to dye wool yarn with natural color. Learn about cold mordanting to prepare fiber for dyeing, brewing plant dyebaths, and immersion dyeing of yarn. You’ll go home with enough plant-dyed yarn to knit a hat, or perhaps to stitch a project in the Finnish nalbinding technique this instructor will teach at PFS September 26-27!

Directions: Follow M-107 west from Silver City to Union Bay Campground (turn right), take first gravel road to right – you are there! We are in the old carpenter’s shop, the first building on your right.
