Eco Dye: Experiments on Paper, Wool, Silk, Cotton, and Linen: Day 2 of 2

Instructor: Dawn Andersson. Experiment eco dyeing on paper, wool, silk, cotton and linen using locally sourced dye plants that are easy to grow or pick in the wild. Mordant with alum and explore iron and tannin reactions in dyeing. Experiment with fibers coated with dried soy milk or various fibrous materials students bring from home. Instructor will provide ample materials to use as well. Students will go home with many finished examples of eco dyeing magic! Bring a lunch.

Directions: Follow M-107 west from Silver City to Union Bay Campground (turn right), take first gravel road to right – you are there! We are in the old carpenter’s shop, the first building on your right.
