Eco Printing and Natural Dyeing
August 7 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm EDT$81
Instructors: Debbie Jircik and Mary Burns. Draw on the collective experiences of the instructors to make a variety of samples of contact printing, explore natural dyes, and create an eco-printed silk scarf. Dive deep into the process of eco-printing using foraged and cultivated plants/leaves; investigate the interaction of tannin, iron and mordant using sustainable methods (no plastic barrier cloth). Participants will also have the opportunity to work with northern Wisconsin cultivated fresh leaf indigo dye.
