Born and raised in Camillus, New York, Ed graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a BFA in Communication Design. After an established career as a graphic designer, art director, and illustrator in upstate New York, Chicago, Tulsa, and Greenville, South Carolina, he and his wife moved to Arizona. Captivated by his new surroundings, he began his new career as a plein air painter, as well as painting murals. In 2012, they moved to Maine, where he traveled the state painting its blossoming springs, bucolic summers, flaming autumns, and snowy winters! Yearly excursions to paint in the desert southwest had kept me tied to a place of searing raw beauty. In 2021 he and his wife returned to Arizona, settling in the Sedona area, where he continues to paint this surreal Southwest landscape.
During Ed’s public presentation, he will give a demonstration of his outdoor painting process, showcasing his equipment and techniques. Ed will share about his background in the Plein Air movement, highlight the importance of National and State Parks, and encourage visitors to connect with nature through painting and journaling. Ed’s goal is to inspire visitors to be creative and promote conservation. Join him!
