Artist-in-Residence
The Mission
“To offer residencies to new and established artists of recognized excellence from around the world to pursue their creative process in a wilderness environment.”
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for co-directors to lead the AIRP.
We are also looking for a selection committee for the 2024 artists. Duties involve reviewing all the applications and selecting artists in one of the three categories: music, writing, and visual. Reviewing begins in late February and selection in March.
If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please email friendsofporkies@gmail.com with a brief description of your background and why you'd like to be considered.
The Program
The Artist-in-Residence program at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is open to artists and artisans whose work can be influenced by this unique northern wilderness setting. It offers writers, composers, and all visual and performing artists and artisans the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Porkies and express it through their particular art form.2023 Artists
