Willow Ripple Vase with Poppy Hatinger

Weave upper peninsula grown and harvested willow into a vase or luminary holder over a recycled glass jar approximately 4 inches in diameter and 7 inches high without the handle. Some willow experience will be helpful. Please bring an awl, bypass pruner, or sharp utility scissors. Poppy will have tools to share.

 

Students age 12 and older are welcome. Please be aware of the need for personal safety. Basket weaving involves using sharp tools. The registration deadline is FIRM to allow sufficient time for the willow to soak.

 

Please bring a lunch.

A minimum of 5 students must be registered by Saturday, August 2 for the class to go. Maximum of 10 students. To register for this class, click the registration button or call 906-884-7663.
Directions: From the east: Follow Engineers Memorial Highway 107 west from Silver City. Turn right on the Union Bay Campground road, take first gravel road to right – you are there! We are in the old carpenter’s shop, the first building on your right.
From the west: At the intersection of South Boundary Road and CR 107, turn left. Turn right on the Union Bay Campground road, take first gravel road to right – you are there! We are in the old carpenter’s shop, the first building on your right.
