Create a Greenland Kayak Paddle with Dave Rasmussen, Session 1 of 2

June 1 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT

Design and construct a traditional Inuit kayak paddle that is tailored to your body size. The paddle is lightweight and efficient and helps to reducing paddling fatigue. During construction, you will use power tools to create the rough shape and then hand tools to craft the final product.

Students age 14 and older are welcome. Students are welcome to bring their own abrasive paper, hand and power tools to avoid wait time for shared tools. Tools & equipment used: surform files, spoke shave, hand planes, palm sander, safety glasses, ear protection, and dust mask. Please bring a lunch.
